Plan your visit to Tanks in Town 2026

The 25th anniversary edition of Tanks in Town will take place on August 28, 29 & 30, 2026 in Mons, Belgium.

The main event site is located at Bois-Brûlé in Ghlin, while several activities will also take place at the Grand Large and in Mons city centre.

To help you prepare your visit, please find below the main information regarding access and parking.

Throughout the weekend, the Bois-Brûlé site will host the historical camps, military vehicles, reenactments, militaria fair, exhibitions, dynamic demonstrations, military vehicle rides and many other activities.

Visitor Parking

A dedicated visitor parking area is available close to the main event site:

Visitors are asked to follow the temporary road signs and instructions provided around the event site.

To help maintain smooth traffic around Bois-Brûlé, please use the designated parking areas and do not park along the access roads to the site.

Pedestrian & Bicycle Access

The site can also be reached on foot or by bicycle via the Grand Large area and the canal footbridge.

This provides an alternative way for visitors coming from Mons city centre or the Grand Large area to reach the Bois-Brûlé sector without travelling by car.

Whenever possible, we encourage visitors to walk, cycle or carpool in order to reduce traffic around the event site.

Saturday – Amphibious Operation at the Grand Large

On Saturday, August 29, part of the programme will take place at the Grand Large in Mons for the amphibious operation organised in collaboration with the Belgian Navy Component and the Sea Cadets – Mons section.

Visitors wishing to attend this activity only may go directly to the Grand Large area.

Activities will continue afterwards at the main Bois-Brûlé site.

Sunday – Historical Parade through Mons

On Sunday, August 30, the vehicle columns will progressively leave Bois-Brûlé and follow commemorative routes through Mons and the surrounding area before entering the city centre.

Several ceremonies and static displays are planned, including at the Mons Memorial Museum and on the Grand-Place of Mons.

Visitors wishing to attend the different stages of the parade are advised to check Sunday's programme and use the public parking facilities available in Mons city centre.

⚠️ Temporary traffic and parking restrictions may be introduced along the parade route.

Access to Bois-Brûlé

The Tanks in Town admission wristband gives access to all three opening days of the Bois-Brûlé site.

Please keep your wristband throughout the entire event.

Important Information

Tanks in Town takes place across several locations and involves a large number of historic military vehicles.

For your safety and to ensure the smooth running of the event:

• follow all signs and instructions given by the organisation;
• only use authorised parking areas;
• do not park in front of technical access points or routes reserved for military vehicles and emergency services;
• remain behind designated safety areas during vehicle movements and demonstrations;
• keep children under close supervision around moving vehicles.

⚠️ Access arrangements, routes and traffic measures may be adjusted depending on organisational, safety or weather conditions.
